Industry Tackles DSA and EU on New Test

November 17th, 2011 | Posted in Miscellaneous

The Motorcycle Industry Association (MCI) and specifically the Motorcycle Industry  Trainers  Association (MCITA) of which I was one of the founding members and committee member for 3 years have been working as hard possibly even harder than ever to safeguard the training industry and the rights of new motorcyclists to a sensible and cost effective testing regime.

This is the latest press release on that subject:-

The Uno: Motorcyle Meets Segway

April 25th, 2008 by: Technabob

Think the Segway is just too geeky for your Born to Be Wild bad boy lifestyle? Then check out this cool new motorcycle born at the intersection of Geek Street and Hog Heaven Avenue.

Uno Gyroscopic Motorcycle

The Uno is a self-balancing motorcycle that uses a pair of gyroscopes to constantly keep its rider upright.

Uno Motorcycle Front View

Designed by 18-year old inventor Ben J. Poss Gulak (and built with the help of a team of bike builders and engineers), the 120-pound motorcycle is so easy to ride, its only control is a single on-off switch. To ride forward, lean forward, to reverse, simply lean back. The degree to which you lean increases or decreases your velocity. By using a pair of wheels, the bike can also make turns based on your side-to-side movements.

Uno Motorcycle Side View

The one-of-a-kind motorcycle was recently demonstrated at the 2008 National Motorcycle Show in Toronto, Canada. Its current whereabouts are unknown, but I’m pretty sure you’ll recognize it if you see it coming down the road

DSA accept THINGS GET LOST !! TODAY!

October 31st, 2011 | Posted in Miscellaneous

Important information from DSA

Before you would probably  have lost the test booking!!!

Lost module 1 certificate – new changes planned from Tuesday 1 November 2011

DSA is updating the procedure for candidates who want to take their module 2 motorcycle test but have lost their module 1 certificate.

From tomorrow, if this happens, either you or the candidate should tell DSA’s contact centre 0300 2001122 as soon as possible and before the module 2 test. This will let DSA carry out the necessary checks and update the module 2 examiner in good time before the test date, so that the test can proceed smoothly.

Not before time IMHO. This would have caused real drama at the Module 2 Test In Shielldhall as anywhere but DSA have at least listened to reason. Problem is Mod1 passes are not stored on the computers at DVLA! (I think?)
